A low smooth hum
I have played cello for two years now, and I think that the cello is a very smooth instrument. It has a rich smooth sound (I also play violin and cello sounds better) that many people love. =)
The sound is produced by the strings vibrating. You can play a cello by plucking the strings (like a guitar) or by playing with a bow (like a violin).
A cello looks like a large violin. It is usually a deep brown or red, but also can be a light orange. The bow of a cello is a long narrow stick of wood, which is fastened to the the horse hairs which you move across the cello's strings to make a sound. The cello has a long neck and is played with you knees bent so they are visible on either side of the cello. Cellos make amazingly beautiful sounds, and are quiet beautiful them selfs! =)
The basic difference between a cello and an electric cello is shape and sound. An acoustic cello amplifies sound naturally inside the hollow body sound-box of the instrument. The electric cello has a slightly different shape, no resonant chamber at all, and a unique tone.
The cello is the base of the violin family. Its sound is like a violin but low pitched. Its sound is very close to that of a human bass, singing without words. The next deeper instrument of the violin family is called a double bass, which is often played plucked for jazz, but has a very low pitched violin-like sound when bowed.
you can get clip on pickups with amplafie the cello sound by detecting vibrations, or you can have them built in (electric cello).
The viol sounds like a messed up cello. No, it sounds like a guitar, bango and a lute.
like a guitar i think, only it is bigger and it is stood up. it cud be played like a violin tho
The cello was included in the orchestras which played in The Lord of the Rings soundtrack, but the cello never played any songs solo.
the strings rub together and make the sound
Any classical music is suited to cello. Popular music is probably better for a guitar or a piano, but anything by Brahms, Bach, or Mozart will sound lovely on cello. I like Minuets and Etudes, but I have been playing for a while.
cello is short for violoncello which is an italian word that is masculine, and when pluralised the ending changes to -i according to Italian grammar. Hence; one cello, two celli don't say celloes. you will sound like a fool. xx
