They need a good quality laying pellet, also you will need oyster shell for them to eat. The oyster shell is what makes the eggs have the hard shell if one of your hens has a defeciency her eggs will be soft and easy to break. You just want to put a little out for them on a free feeder bases so that they can eat what they want when the want.
