A bird's cloaca is the passage through which a bird urinates, defecates and lays eggs. When engaged in any of these activities, the terminus looks like an "O", when not urinating, defecating or laying an egg the terminus looks rather like an asterix (*).
Monotremes, the echidna and platypus, have a cloaca. Monotreme means one hole, and is a reference to the cloaca.
Yes. A cloaca is present in marsupials and monotremes, as well as in birds, amhibians and reptiles. Placental mammals do not have a cloaca.
Owls, like all birds, have a cloaca for all excetory functions.
All birds, chickens included, are fertilised internally. Both the male and female birds have a cloaca. And it is through their cloaca that sperm is passed. An example of external fertilisation is the frog, the male emitting sperm onto the spawn that the female is releasing.
Sex determination of geese and other birds is done by examining their cloaca. The cloaca is a common duct for urination, defecation, copulation, and ovulation.
all of them except for mammals(amphibians, birds, fishes, reptiles)PS. anyone can edit this question.
No. All Mammals do not have cloaca's. The cloaca is a feature in only Birds, Fish, Reptiles and Amphibians which allows urine and faeces to pass through and hides the reprodeuctive organs. Mammals however have separate urine, reproductive and faeces tracks. Being the case, in male mammals, the urine and reproductive tracks are connected together and the faeces being only separate, while in female's, the tracks are all separated.
Through an opening called the cloaca, like all birds. This one opening is used for urine, feces, and all sexual functions.
It depends whether you are referring to the male or the female. Female falcons like other birds, have two ovaries and a cloaca. Males do not have a penis (most birds don't) but he does have two testicles which
Reptiles, like birds, have a cloaca, which is a single opening through which all wastes are passed, and which also functions as the opening for their reproductive tract.
The cloaca is a chamber that receives products from the digestive, urinary and reproductive systems. The cloaca serves as the sole posterior opening and is found in amphibians, birds and reptiles.
A cloaca is a common chamber and outlet into which the intestinal, urinary, and genital tracts open. It is present in amphibians, reptiles (therefore dinosaurs), birds, elasmobranch fishes (such as sharks), and monotremes. Plancental mamals and most bony fishes have an anus.
