It makes no sound. It will cause hard starting, stalling, and eventually the engine will not start at all. Replace it if you even suspect it is clogged. It will cause your fuel pump to work hard and overheat, eventually burning the fuel pump out. Way cheaper to replace the fuel filter every 75,000 miles.
