A database is mainly used to store a large amount of information. It helps keep all the info, sometimes of a particular subject, all in the same easy to access area.
database server
You can do it using filters, but mainly by using queries.
There are a number of functionalities that a database provides. Some of the functionalities that database provide are : security of data, reduced redundancy also ease of accessing data.
ETL software stands for 'Extract, Transform and Load'. This software is used mainly to migrate data from one database to another. It is also used to convert database formats from one type to another.
Oracle is a company; they produce several programs (notably Oracle, a database program, and, since they bought out Sun Microsystems, Solaris and Java). The programming language used in the Oracle database is mainly PL/SQL.
It is a spreadsheet application and mainly deals with numbers, but it has databasing capabilities and can manipulate strings.
Yes. In the sense of keeping a record of data, Excel can do that. It deals mainly with numerical data, but it can be used for other kinds of data. It has databasing capabilities, though to do a proper database, another application would be better. Excel is primarily a spreadsheet, not a database.Yes. Excel's database capability is rather limited compared to a relational database program. As an example you could have a list of stock items and their prices on one worksheet, a list of customers on another worksheet and you could use a third one to prepare invoices, using the VLOOKUP function to draw stock and customer information from the other two worksheets.
Excel is not a database itself, but a lot of spreadsheets by their nature are databases in their structure if laid out like a table. Excel also provides a range of database facilities and inbuilt database functions. Amongst the facilities are the ability to sort and to apply filters and use forms to enter data. The inbuilt functions mainly correspond to other functions in Excel, except that they can be done with criteria applied to the database. So like the SUM, MIN and MAX for example, there are functions called DSUM, DMIN and DMAX, amongst others.
it is used in Mysql which is a program used for programming. It helps in managing and analysing the given data and is mainly used when there is large amount of data to be analysed!!
We would use in rather than on. Data is stored in a database, not on a database. Data is entered into a database not onto a database.
