The dog's naval cavities and nostrils are made up a complex system of bones-such as like a web. This increases its surface area in which it can contact smells, so this is also why dogs have such a keen sense of smell.

When his nose is dry? It has a dry nose. The "dry nose = sick dog" is just a myth. It could be dehydrated though, or it could be too hot or too cold. A dry nose is usually nothing to worry about. If you're concerned, go to your dogs vet.

No, they are not leather. Leather is what you get when you tan an animal hide; tanning is a process that is done to hides after they are removed from the animal. Dogs' ears are typically called 'leather', but they are not real leather either.
