What kind of note?

Dotted quarter note=1 and a half counts (ends on "and")

Dotted half note=3 counts

Dotted whole note=6 counts

Anything dotted in musical notation is the worth of the note+half of it's worth (example, half note[2]+half of a half note[1]=3 counts)

Thanks, Nate

A quaver takes 1/2 beats. A dot is worth half value of the respective note. Therefore a dotted quaver takes 3/4 beats.

3/8, Reason- dotted semiquaver has 1/4 count and demisemiquaver has 1/8 count so dotted semiquaver will be 1/4 + 1/8 = 3/8.

Quaver is British-English for an 8th note. A dot adds one-half of the note's value, so a dotted quaver, or dotted 8th, is the same as one 8th plus one 16th (one quaver plus one semiquaver).
