well, if you want to measure the length, just stretch the tape and measure it. If you want to measure the diameter, measure the circumference of the screw, then divided by 3.1415, then you will get the diameter.
You take a tape measure and you measure it length and height and that is all you do.

Raingauge is used for rain
raingauge
Wayne L. Decker has written: 'Analysis of 1961 raingauge records in south central Missouri for the cumulus cloud research project' -- subject(s): Measurement, Precipitation (Meteorology), Rain and rainfall
Place the rain gauge in an open area (far from trees or buildings or anything that could interfere with rain falling on it. At regular intervals read the gauge record the amount with the date and time and empty the rain gauge.
Assuming that your are doing a Synpotic (6 hr) Weather Observation, you need to go to the actual Raingauge located in the Weather Compound and measure, using the instruments provided. This is a "Shall DO" (MANOBS) regardless of rain amounts, if any. The electronic rain gauge is still considered a back-up for the real thing. If the electronic rain gage is o/o, follow the instruction manual- you will need to mark down that you are testing the system by pouring water into it. Better yet, call a Tech. from HQ.
