Skin cancers can have a wide range of appearances. It is best to have any lump or mole checked, especially if it changes in appearance, size and shape. They are easy to miss - my mother had a serious cancer removed which appeared to be a flattish round skin colored lump, unlike most of the photos of skin cancers commonly available. ∙ 13y agoA cancerous mole can turn very dark in color after time, bigger than an eraser head on a pencil and not a perfect circle. If any of these are true you might want to go to a doctor to get it looked at

Not always called cancer but known by different names such as carcinos in 460BC. Prior to that it was just wasting or growths. Mummified remains from 3000 BC have shown cancerous growths on bone.
