A Starfish (As the name says) is a star shaped animal. These animals live at the bottom of the sea and can grow legs. The name of the family which this creature belongs to is Echinoderm even with over 100 different types of them. It has eyes on the end of its leg and the mouth is in the middle.

Everything that is made up of cells, can respond and adapt to their environment, can grow and can reproduce is alive. And a starfish is all of those things. Although it may not look like it, starfish are definitely alive. This is the same with clams, mussels, coral and any other animal. Yes, coral is an animal.
