The reason why water can't remove nailpolish is because water doesn't have a special chemical inside it to remove nailpolish. I don't know what the chemical is called, but you can always go to the nail polish store or go to CVS to find nailpolish remove stuff.

Because nail polish is an air drying (non chemical curing) acrylic based paint which contains acetone and other solvents when applied, so acetone is able to re- dissolve it.

I think there is a choice of non-acetone and acetone nail polish remover So yes it can BE in nail polish remover but not in all of them .
