Copper sulfate solution is clear and blue Water is clear and colorless
The iron is more reactive than copper so when the iron nail is immersed in copper sulphate the iron takes sulphate ion from the copper sulphate and copper metal is deposited on top of the iron so that the nail will then look like a copper nail. The chemical reaction is called a replacement reaction, and is chemically represented as : CuSO4(compound in solution) + Fe(metal) ------>Cu(deposited metal) + FeSO4.
Some examples of metals that look like copper include brass, bronze, and rose gold.
Copper oxide appears as a black or dark brown powder after copper has burned.
they were scary
It's made of copper.
No reaction will occur. If you look at Table J in NYS Regents booklet, the Activity Series you will notice that Cu is bellow the H2, so no reaction will occur with an element that is listed below H2.
not pure iron... But you can provide a covering over iron to make it look like copper by just dipping it into copper sulphate solution .. Because Iron is more reactive than Copper ... it will displace it in the solution .. the color of solution will change so as the color of iron!
When zinc sulphate and lithium react together, they form lithium sulphate and zinc as products. Zinc is a grayish-white metal, while lithium sulphate is a white solid. Therefore, after the reaction, you would observe a greyish-white solid and a white solid.
From the green growth (moss, etc.) on the canyon walls that makes it look like copper ore.
Copper is a brown solid. Take a look at an American or Canadian penny. In nature, copper is usually found as an oxide that is bluish green. The Statue of Liberty is copper and has oxidized to this bluish green color.
Copper and gold look similar, but while gold is yellowish, copper is reddish.
