Anti-Bark collars are for dogs who tend to bark a lot and it is annoying to the owner. My dog's collar has two prongs that sense movements in his throat to indicate if he is barking, whining, or making any annoying sounds. IT IS A LIFE-SAVER! The only downfall is that if the dog actually moves his/her neck it may shock him/her. :( It makes me feel bad when my dog gets shocked for no reason, but it does keep him quieter than without it on. In case that the collar does indeed shock the dog for no reason at all, I tend to keep the "shock level" on a lower level, so it doesn't hurt very much. -Just enough to let the dog know that barking and whining is unacceptable.
**Remember to take the collar off every now and then, so you do not scare the dog from the shocking and make sure that the "shock level" is tolerable for your dog. The level on my dog's collar is on 3, but he is a bigger dog (Large Munsterlander), so just make sure that the level that you set the collar on is appropriate for your breed of dog. -You do not want to hurt your dog.
