Plain water itself should have no odor. However, water can have different odors depending on the source. Drinking water sometimes smells like chlorine, and you might also smell the Plumbing in it (plastic or metallic odor). Spring water smells like the minerals in it. Ocean water smells salty, but it may smell like crude oil after a spill or pipeline leak. Local ponds may smell like mud and fish. Local lakes might smell like mud, fish, and outboard engine oil. Water in a toilet likely smells like body waste unless the toilet was just cleaned. Water in an aquarium will smell like fish (or at least the bacteria which helps clean the tank).

That depends on the contaminant. It can smell like anything that is in it as water has no real smell. It will either look like water or water with bits floating in it or dirty water. For example water used in nuclear power plants is radioactively contaminated but it looks and smells like water (if a bit metallic, but so does tap water). Bottom line if the water might be contaminated. DONT drink it.

The smell of dew depends on the surroundings, or environment, of where the dew is located. If the dew is on a blade of grass, it may smell like grass. If it is on a petal of a flower, it may smell like the flower, or its pollen. All in all, dew usually smells like water, since it technically is water.
