An array is a group or list of elements that can be accessed by indexing.
The phrase "arrayed like a flower" is from the Bible, Mattew 6:29, where Jesus was saying that even Solomon in all his glory (a rich king in the Old Testament) "was not arrayed like one of these," speaking of flowers. The point was that the flowers are beautiful and are taken care of by God, they don't have to work and take care of themselves. Jesus had been teaching the people that we don't need to worry, but to trust God.
