Bill Moyer believes that lying and censorship are two very different things. With a lie, the truth can be exposed, and the chance for knowing is still open. For example, if someone were to spread a lie at school, someone could still ask the person who it is on, and find out the truth. With censorship, we will never understand the truth, or reach this relation, as it is never available to us. When we watch television, or media, profanity is always censored out. So growing up with that, someone may never understand what it is. Although this is not a terrible loss, it still shows that information can be taken away from ourselves if we censor it.
