It is the opposite of being narrowminded. You broaden (widen) your thinking to accept possibilities. For instance, there are many things which are not proven (Sasquatch, Yeti, extraterrestrial life, etc.). A narrowminded individual will not acknowledge them without proof, and a broadminded person will allow that they are possible.

Is America a God fearing country?

No. While most citizens of the US believe in a God, it is not a relationship based on fear. Many are more broadminded and see it as a relationship based on mutual love. Most of the countries founders, such as Washington were not fundamentalist Christians, and saw God as more of an unknowable entity or force of nature and used the term "Providence".

What does it mean when you like more than one genre of music?

It means that you are broadminded, and don't just follow the current trends. It also means that you are more likely to give any new music you hear a chance to impress you, instead of automatically dismissing it as being different from what you like. This could wind up spilling over into art, books, clothing, movies, etc. If you follow what interests you (without prejudging it first) and expose yourself to a wide variety of choices, in no time at all you'll have developed your own unique style.
