Smoking pot actually does have a few physical after effects. It can effect the lungs negatively because tar is being deposited, just like cigarette smoking. Since marijuana smoke is often unfiltered 4 times the amount of tar is deposited by weight, but considering the average cigarette smoker goes through 20-40 cigarettes a day while a marijuana smoker that smokes regularly will only smoke 2-4 joints, so the harm done is much less. The fallacy that it is a harmless drug is generally a fallacy. Tar is not deposited if marijuana is vaporized or eaten. Marijuana doesn't raise your risk of cancer or COPD let alone cause them. Research is still inconclusive as far as what exactly the harmful effects are. Many circulated today are now being deemed myths created by the government for negative Propaganda and have no valid medical research to back them.
