it is best to use a semi synthetic or full sythetic ,either Catrol Magnatec 5/40 or Mobil 1 0/40 which is probably the best oil there is .If you want to save a bit Costco do a Chevron sythetic ,5/40 which meets all the MERCEDES specs and is about £10 for 4.5 litres ,you will need 8 litres on this engine but it is only about £10 for 4.5 litres and is good stuff.
