I've just started this in Biology, the cilia are tiny hairs that cover the ciliated epithelial cells which are found in airways. I think they trap mucus but I'm not sure if they trap anything else lol that was what i was looking for but then i came accross this question :L
hope that helps though! x
Cilia that lines the trachea and nasal cavity DO stop dust particles from entering the body....
cilia on cells also function in the movement of the cell body
The Dustagrabba cells. Kidding, cilia.
Mucus secreted by goblet cells trap the foreign particles. Cilia push the particles out wards. This protects your lungs from damage by the foreign particles.
The cilia serve mostly as a filter, to catch things like bacteria and viruses in the air. This is why smoking is especially bad, because the smoke damages that filter.
because it has to trap all dust particles that didn't get trapped when going through nose and mouth...... by epidemic skate shop
Cilia
The tiny hairs that trap dust and pollen are known as cilia. Cilia traps dust and pollen in the nose before it reaches the lower respiratory tract and lungs.
Epithelial cells I think.... or Cilia, no i think Cilia are hairs!
I believe you are referring to Cilia, which are hairlike projections that trap dirt in the body.
Cilia.

It has cilia (hairs) that trap dust and woft it away from your lungs.
It has cilia (hairs) that trap dust and woft it away from your lungs.
Its called the cilia.
Its called the cilia.
The cilia are tiny hairs which act to trap dust or dirt particles in the air that people breathe. The cilia and the mucus helps to keep dust and dirt out of the lungs.
It is Epithelium composed of cells bearing cilia on their free surfaces.
they move by spinning their cilia in a wheel motion and swimming through the ocean
