If you have a Schucks automotive store in your area, go there. They let you use their code reader for free. It reads the code(s). A sales person can then tell you what the codes mean. Afterwards, you can clear the codes using the code reader. If you don't have a Schucks in your area, I'd suggest calling around to automotive stores in your area and find out if they provide this service.

You may google the error codes or call the local auto parts store to figure out what they mean. If the codes do not come up just take it to Autozone or O'reilley's and have them hook it up to the…
Listing all the possibilities would be close to impossible. Check your gas cap to see if it's nice and tight. Otherwise hook up an OBD II code reader. It's ~$80-100 CAN for the dealer to hook it up and tell you what's wrong. It's ~$150-200 CAN to buy a code reader. If you feel confident that you can properly interpret the codes, a code reader will pay for itself after 2 issues with any car…
p0300 is a general misfire code, and p0301 is a misfire on cylinder # 1. Most of the time a tune up will usually fix the issue. While you are checking things it wouldn't hurt to do a compression test while you have the spark plug out. If you have done a recent tune up recheck the plug, and possibly check the fuel injector.

For example: You ran through high water, it got the ignition wet which caused a random misfire (code) and after it was dry it stopped. That does not mean the problem has gone away, it simply means the trouble has not happened in the last computer cycle of 'current codes'. Current Code…
