I'm not a mechanic / technician but I know the engine cylinders for the 4.6
( and 5.4 ) on a 2000 Ford F-150 are numbered :
firewall
4 - 8
3 - 7
2 - 6
1 - 5
front of Ford F-150 , V8
So , I ASSUME it would be :
firewall
d - h
c - g
b - f
a - e
front of vehicle
( at least that makes sense to me )
It means the coil or the spark plug is dead.
On a 2000 Ford Ranger the only engine that uses a timing BELT is the 2.5 liter four cylinder engine ( I have no idea of what you mean by a " delay switch " )
Engine misfire detected, cylinder number 2. Could be spark plug, ignition coil, ecm, or a loose wire. but more likely its the ignition coil usually runs about 70 bucks.
Cylinder 8 misfire detected Often the front coil pack failing. Burning up the #8 sparkplug is a common indicator.
If you mean P0308 , engine cylinder # 8 misfire detected : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of Ford F-150 ( V8 )
Cylinder 5 is missing
An engine cylinder misfire has been detected on the # 4 engine cylinder
Most of the time this means that the coil for that cylinder is bad. It can also mean a bad plug and sometimes the fuel injector.
The # 2 engine cylinder has a misfire
This means that your vehicle is missing on cylinder 3. You will need to have your coil changed to fix this problem
It Means that cylinder number three is experiencing a misfire, this could be a bad spark plus, a disconnected wire at the plug or coil, a bad coil, a bad fuel injector, disconnected wire at the fuel injector, the list goes on and on, you'll need to do some troubleshooting to rule out possibilities.
missfire on star up first 1000 rpm ignition coil is going bad use a ford coil if you dont want a lot of problems with aftermarket units
