What does cold blooded and warm blooded mean?

Cold-blooded animals have a variable body temperature which reflects the environmental temperature (eg. fish and reptiles).

Warm-blooded animals keep their core body temperature at a nearly consistent level regardless of the temperature of the surrounding environment (eg. birds and mammals).
