What is so special about cotton that makes it comfortable to wear?
What is the meaning of the word 'cotton' in the sentence 'Ben never did cotton to the sales side of the business'?
The sentence "Jim never did cotton to the sales side of the business" could be rephrased "Jim did not cotton to the sales side of the business", so the operative phrase is not "to do cotton to" but "to cotton to", and to cotton to something or someone means to like or to feel an affinity for that thing or person. So, the fact that Jim did not cotton to the sales side of the business means that he didn't like or understand it.

Why does cotton feel so good to wear?
Cotton has a property that is pretty smooth, even when it is first grown. It could also be that the cotton you wear is very high quality cotton from brand name manufacturers. It is different for every person, but cotton's properties have a very good feel to your skin. Other than that there isn't any other reason why cotton might feel so good to wear.

What is the difference between cotton and flannel?
COTTON is usually thick and there is a lot of cotton in a country called Pakistan and they use thick cotton and pillows are made at of thick cotton. And flannel is rough like when you have a old sweater you could feel these rough small balls on it. SO COTTON IS THICK AND FLANNEL IS ROUGH. . . . I'M A 11 year old kid! I GOT 96 IN ALL CLASSES. Why did the south stop trading cotton to Europe during the US Civil War?
At the beginning, it was a deliberate tactic - to make them feel what it was like to be deprived of Southern cotton, so that they would grant recognition to the Confederacy and send military aid. (This tactic failed - there was glut of cotton on the maket that year.) Later, when they would like to have traded with Europe, the Union blockade prevented this.

Why is are some cotton shirts itchy and some not?
I think that it depends on the length of the cotton fibers. Cheaper cotton shirts are usually made with shorter cotton fibers. How they are woven is also a factor. I am having a terrible time with cotton shirts itching me - even after a dozen or more washes. However I have some Tori Richards shirts from Honolulu made with cotton lawn that feel like silk and are totally fine. I have started to find that even 60 cotton / 40 rayon blend itch. Help
