Yhey were forced into false confessions and charged with herrasy and witchcraft. They were all burned at the stake and the leader, when he was being burned, proclaimed that he would see the Pope and Phillip at the gates of heaven to be judged before 5 years had gone by. They both died within the year.

There have been plenty of high visibility people excommunicated that no one has known about.
