exclude from a church or a religous community
We do not automatically disfellowship someone who commits a serious sin. If, however, a baptized Witness makes a practice of breaking the Bible's moral code and does not repent, he or she will be shunned or disfellowshipped. The Bible clearly states: "Remove the wicked man from among yourselves."-1 Corinthians 5:13.
On October 13, 1307, (a Friday, but not linked with the superstition) King Phillip IV of France had every single templar simultainiously arrested, and he had Pope Clement V excomunicate the leader and pretty much disolve the whole organization. Yhey were forced into false confessions and charged with herrasy and witchcraft. They were all burned at the stake and the leader, when he was being burned, proclaimed that he would see the Pope and Phillip at the gates of heaven to be judged before 5 years had gone by. They both died within the year.

Mean is the average.

The correct usage is "what DOES it mean"
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) does not generally excommunicate people for 'promoting sexuality and whoredoms.' Excommunications, i.e. the cancellation of baptismal covenants and the subsequent removal of blessings stemming therefrom, is generally reserved for those who approach their bishop to confess their sins and it is felt that a period without the influence of the Spirit may help in the repentance process. It is therefore rare that the church publicly excommunicates anyone--if Julianne Hough were kicked out of the church, the church would never make a statement to the press--not even for felony criminals. There have been plenty of high visibility people excommunicated that no one has known about.
No, but sometimes "average" means "mean" - when it doesn't mean median, geometric mean, or something else entirely.
He is as mean as a copperhead snakeHe is as mean as an angry bearHe is as mean as a bottle of brandyHe is as mean a black woman
