ESR- Erythrocyte (Red Blood Cell RBC) Sedimentation rate - tests for inflammation in the body. RBCs usually fall slowly in a test tube. In the presence of inflammatory proteins they fall faster. Inflammation may mean you have an infection. CRP- c reactive protrein- this protein is made in the liver and is one of the inflammatory proteins discussed earlier.
