cars work well with friction because if there was no friction and a car tried to turn it would probably slip and slide and therefore a car works pretty well with friction
If there was no friction between the tires and the ground, on a turn the car would continue sliding in the direction he originally had ( like if the car was on an iced lake). Friction between tires and ground allows the car to turn while in motion, but if the car makes a close turn at a very high speed, if the tires have enough friction with the ground, they wont allow the car to slide, and the centrifuge force created will seem to push the car side wise while the tires will resist originating a fulcrum point making the car roll over.

Friction is the force that makes it possible to stop a car - a friction between wheels and road surface is a stopping force there. Also, friction is necessary for maneuvering - if the wheels slipped, you wouldn't be able to make a turn.

When the wheels of a car turn, friction causes the wheels to push back on the road, which in turn causes the road to push the car forward. Without friction the wheels would just spin in place. You can sometimes see this occur on icy roads, where there is very little friction.
