Gating is the technique of synchronizing the motion of the heart with the images taken during tomography to eliminate blurring normally caused by the beating of the heart.
There are five different gating systems provided in casting design. They are the horizontal gating system, vertical gating system, top gating system, bottom gating system and the middle gating system. The gates provide a way for the hot metal to flow.
