To be rid of something is to no longer have it, the connotation being that it was something you didn't particularly want to have, like a fungal infection or an unpleasant nickname. "Riddance" is the act of being rid of something, the noun form of the word. The addition of the word "good" strengthens the idea that getting rid of whatever it was is a good thing.
