What are some interesting facts about helium?

helium is used for deep sea fishing.

What is hypercapnea?

abnormally deep and rapid breathing

How do you identify helium gas?

My method is breathing a little amount of it and then speaking , if your sound seems too soft and high pitch then that's Helium.

Is helium poisonous if you inhale too much?

Yes, a single deep breath of pure helium will drive all the oxygen out of your lungs and you will pass out. After that you will probably be breathing air again so you will recover, but remember, the first result of reduced oxygen to the brain is brain damage.yes and no.............Inhaling Helium in small amounts is safe enough, such as taking a breath of helium from a balloon to change your voice, but even doing this too many times in a row can cause headaches, disorientation or lightheadedness, since helium deprives your body of oxygen...and taking a single deep breath of pure helium can also lead to unconsciousness, and maybe death by asphyxiation.Remember, the first result of reduced oxygen to the brain is brain damage. The second result is death. But other than that and the voice changes helium is basically harmless in small amounts...Helium is also mixed with other gases such as oxygen, compressed air etc for diving purposes...No. Just breath every once and a while. There is helium in the air we breathe and we're just fine. So after everytime you suck down some helium from a balloon or whatever, just take a deep breath so your brain gets the oxygen it needs.Yes, your inner organs will collapse and then blood will stop rushing to your brain any you will die in a matter of hours.you're supposed to be breathing oxygen instead, so if you breathe too much helium, you won't get enough oxygenyes.Yes. It kills brain cells and it's to high of a concentration for your body to handle. People were made for oxygen.... not helium. It also leads to brain damage. ------------------------Breathing in too much helium can displace oxygen that you need and you may get dizzy while you're doing it.If you breathe in just PURE helium, that can lead to suffocation, because our bodies need oxygen.Inhaling continuous breaths of helium one after another starves the body of oxygen. A person will eventually pass out, and perhaps even worse. At most, inhaling once or twice from a helium balloon, separated by deep inhalations of air, will be a way to prevent the harm. So, bottom line is that it's okay to inhale a bit of helium for fun but you have to pay attention to how much you inhale so it won't harm your health.- Edited answer by Omg848, 2:18 PM PST, Sunday, August 23, 2009Yes, breathing helium is harmful if that's all you're breathing. You need oxygen to live, and without O2 in the gas you breathe, you will lose consciousness and you can asphyxiate. Asphyxiation leads to death. Helium is used in what is called mixed gas breathing apparatus for use in deep diving. In this situation, the gas mixture is almost all helium, and oxygen is regulated in a way that the partial pressure of oxygen is "correct" and the diver gets enough but not too much O2 and can dive safely. It isn't a bad thing to do....we had helium balloons sink then i sucked the helium out....make sure to suck in oxygen also, or else you will probably die or something. Helium makes your voice sound weird and awesome!! I love it but it isn't that good for me. It's fun, but it's not the best. Don't do it that often. I'd use helium balloons if I were you, not helium tanks. (:

What property of helium gas makes it an important component of welding systems?

The important property is the inertness of helium.

Is helium good for the environment?

Firstly, helium is NON- TOXIC. Helium is useful to mankind as it is used in cryogenics, deep-sea breathing systems, blowing up balloons, providing the lightweight in airships etc. Breathing in a small amount of helium will temporarily increase the pitch of your voice (no harm), however, excessive inhaling of helium is dangerous as it may cause death by asphyxiation within minutes!

When was Deep Breathing Exercises created?

Deep Breathing Exercises was created in 1980.

Deep diaphragm breathing is?

Deep diaphragm breathing is done by contracting the diaphragm.

What is the use for helium?

helium can be used for many different things. It can be used for advertising purposes, recreation, purge systems, and low-temperature cooling systems. Objects that float in the air, such as balloons, blimps, Other uses of helium include: - being a protective shield while growing silicon and germanium crystals. - supersonic wind tunnels - nuclear reactors - a protective shield for titanium and zirconium fabrication. - pressurizing liquid fuel rockets. <><><> Can also be used together with oxygen as a special breathing gas mix for VERY deep underwater divers, to avoid nitrogen narcosis.

Can breathing neon gas be fatal?

Neon (Ne) is an inert gas sometimes used in deep comercial diving but is very expensive. Like helium, it is less narcotic than nitrogen, but unlike helium, it does not distort the diver's voice. While neon is not toxic, it does no support life. Breathing pure neon with no oxygen for several minutes would be fatal.

Can helium be deadly?

Potentially. While helium itself is inert and thus non-toxic, like any gas it can push oxygen out of the way. Breathing pure helium means you are not breathing oxygen. Without oxygen you can die in minutes.

How is deep breathing relieve stress?

Deep breathing relieves stress because it forces the body into a calmer state. It also helps by allowing the person to concentrate on their breathing, and not on the stress.
