What does vent mean?

Having access to outside air. Drains need to vent to the outside or the water draining will cause a vacuum. Furnace and water heater need to vent the exhaust from the combustion. Or if you are frustrated or mad and just need to blow off steam, it can be said you are venting.

How was black magic voodoo used in the 1600s?

Well, you were burned if found using any sort of magic, so I'd guess voodoo, or to cast evil spells against all who crossed to witches.Another Answer:Magic is the Art and Science of causing change to occur in conformity with Will. 'Black' magic is causing change that other people disapprove of.In the C17th, I would be inclined to think the most common practices (in no particular order) were- gaining knowledge by talking to angels, spirits or the dead- finding treasure- seeking immortality and eternal youth- spirituality (loosely, what is called 'enlightenment' in Buddhism, etc.)There was a distinct break between 'witchcraft' and what might be called the 'Hermetic sciences'. Witches were usually harmless women that fell victim to the envy or fear of others. If they did and/or knew anything outside of ordinary knowledge, it was probably what we would call herbalism and midwifery. No doubt a few, somewhere, turned their neighbour's cow's milk sour, and a few might have concocted a brew of hallucinogens in order to 'go to a Sabbat' and 'have congress with the Devil' - and I think, if I had been forced to endure the life of the average woman at the time, I would have been doing it, out of sheer frustration and boredom; but most owned land that someone else wanted, or looked a bit strange, or just upset the wrong person.

What would make a 1993 Ford Tempo engine suddenly die if it's got a new fuel pump and filter and battery?

Yesterday I fix the same problem with my 89 tempo. The fuel pump would turn on and off all the time while driving around. I put in a new pump, filter and fuel pump relay. The problem continued. It ended up being the plugin on the fuel pump, the plastic was cracked and that made for a loose conection. You can hear the fuel pump turn on for a second or two when you turn the key to acc. If you don't hear that then it has to be one of these 4 problems. Make that 5 problems. Forgot to mention the fuel cut-off switch. == == For nearly 2 years, I have had the same problem with my 93' Tempo; where my engine completely looses power in and out of the highway, even local driving was beginning to become more and more difficult. After replacing the fuel pump, wiring, hoses and filters, I have found the problem to be of an electrical origin. After investigation, I have come to find out that it was my RELAY BOX (The black box that is connected to the drivers side strut mount beneath the hood); inside the box are a series of relays meant for different components for the car, such as the Fuel Pump, Air conditioning and so on. Thankfully, my father works for a Government Contractor revolving around electronic engineering, thus I was able to pinpoint the problem faster and more efficiently with his help. The FUEL PUMP Relay inside the black box was actually completely worn out (not engaging correctly). I have went online to find where to get a spare relay to replace it and, HOLEE CRAP, it was an obsolete model that was not being manufactured or sold anymore. My father came up with a crazy idea of rigging the relay circuitry to accept a heavier duty PONTIAC Fuel Pump Relay; this relay was ALOT more common and widely purchased in the United States, so it only costs 5 bucks. He was able to soder heavy guage wires onto the relay board made them extend out of the box to connect to the heavier PONTIAC Relay mounted into place against the strut near the Black Box. Ever since, my car has been running well without it loosing power. Hope this is helpful to any and all owners of ford Tempos.

What did Francisco Franco do as a dictator?

While Francisco Franco was in power he helped to stabilize the economy of Spain, which had been ruined after the Spanish Civil War. The civil war occurred because of the rebellion against the government of Spain. Franco and a group of others who had a strong disbelief in the policies of the Republican government formed a coup to revolt against the government of Spain and to gain power over the government. These attacks on the government eventually turned into the civil war between the Republicans and the Nationalists. In the end, Franco led the Nationalists to victory with the support of Hitler and Mussolini. During Franco's reign, the economy was restored. There were three main factors which contributed to the improvement of the economy of Spain. The first factor being the tourism in Spain. With beautiful beaches, lovely warm weather and bargain prices, Spain managed to attract many tourists. The second factor was the foreign investment. The USA was the most important source. The third factor was the emigrant remittances. More than 3 million Spaniards emigrated to other countries. This provided the country with much needed monetary envoys. Not only did the economy improve during Franco's reign but many people who held the beliefs of a Republican were killed. Hundreds of thousands of Republicans were imprisoned and nearly 200,000 were summarily executed or killed. Franco also introduced a new system called the 'New State'. This system was based on the fascist ideas of unquestioning loyalty, the denial of individual rights and freedoms and state intervention in economic and social management. Also during his rule, trade unions were banned, strikes were forbidden, divorce was illegal, abortion was illegal, political parties outlawed, no freedom of speech, no freedom of the press, no freedom of religion, civil marriage banned, media silenced. Franco's actions were obviously highly dictatorial during his reign.
