A general discharges is given to a service member whose performance is satisfactory, but is marked by a considerable departure in duty performance and conduct expected of military members. There is no specific discharge called "general discharge with honorable conditions."

There are six types of discharges:

  1. Honorable
  2. General
  3. Other than Honorable
  4. Bad Conduct
  5. Dishonorable
  6. Uncharachterized (or Entry Level Separation) -- neither good nor bad
