Hyper: Above or greater than "average" (hyperactive child is one who is more active than other children, or over-active).

Metabolic: To do with the way in which your body paces itself. The speed at which food is digested and converted into energy.

Basically, if you're hypermetabolic, it means that your metabolism is running at an increased rate. You need to watch the foods you eat; make sure they are always healthy, with lots of fruit and veges and wholegrains. Low GI foods will do better than highly processed, sugary foods. Your body will churn up all the energy you're putting into it. You need to make sure you attend to it well and keep it well-nourished.
