"More of" means an additional amount. I will need more of the blue cloth to finish the project. We have more of the lemon pie than the apple, so try to convince people that they want lemon. If you do less of the complaining and more of the writing, you'll finish the report on time.

It sounds like part of sentence. Like, "had I been with you" this never would have happened. The person who says that, wants you know that they respect you and they feel like you would have protected them.
