The independent variable is the thing that changes with in the experiment to make it an experiment. For example, say I was doing an experiment on something such as "Which sponge brand can absorb the most water?" The independent variable would be the different sponge brands because it would be the thing that changes with in the experiment. Otherwise, if you didn't make an independent variable (the different sponge brands in this case) it wouldn't be an experiment because a sponge of the same brand should hold about the same amount of water as the others.
It means that a variable is manipulated!(:
because in certain experiments you need an accurate independent variable so your conulsion could be accurate
A variable means that something that you can change, measure, or keep the same. Example: Responding variable: The variable you can measure. Controlled variable: The variable you keep the same. Manipulated variable: The variable that you change.
the test variable is the independent variable.
It is the variable that is changed.
Independent variable is the variable that you change in an experiment.
its y on a grph its the y on a graph!!
It means that a variable is manipulated!(:
twin-indepedent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT)
it means insturction
It means that they are not supposed to be together.
In a science experiment, the independent variable is the one you change. For example: if you are doing an experiment on the impact of different types of soil on plant growth, the different types of soil would be your independent variable. The dependent variable is the outcome, or whatever the independent variable directly impacts. In this case, the dependent variable is the height of each plant.

There is never "only an independent variable". Science and math are both the study of how changes in one thing cause changes in something else. If you can think of something that can change, and NOT have any effect on anything else, then it's an independent variable that can stand alone. But if it has any effect on anything else, then there is always something that depends on it, and that's a DEpendent variable.
indepedent variable
Controlled (in science) means constant and not changed. The opposite of variable.
