Dogs don't show signs of pain or paralysis like humans after a stroke. Look for these symptoms:
- Head tilt
- Lethargy (lack of movement or appearing very weak)
- Loss of balance or moving in circles
- Turning the wrong way when called
- Eating out of one side of the food bowl
- Tongue hanging out of mouth but not panting
- Apparent blindness
Keep in mind not all of these signs are just stroke symptoms. When treated, most dogs can regain motor control within several weeks.
