You cannot skip the intro on your laptop. Something is loading every step of the way, and any animation you see is just to keep you entertained while that happens.
It is extremely unlikely that any airplane will crash. Any airplane that crashes just gets overtelevised by the news channels. Think about this... Theres over 5,000 car crashes in America, EVERY MINUTE. In 2008, there were only about 8 MAJOR aircraft incidents. The aircraft crashes/breakdowns, just get more attention because theres more than 2 or 4 people in the area.

Well, Then apparently it's refurbished & you will have to buy or download a new OS such as Windows, or Ubuntu. I can give you a link to get Ubuntu for free, all you have to do is download it, & get a program called Power ISO & burn the image to a CD-R Media. After You burn the image you just insert in your "New" laptop & follow the installation instructions. http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
