In my home country, we call the elderly, Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle or Aunty, (depending on how older they are to us) as a sign of great respect. If they are at about the same age as us we say brother or sister.
Its just basically a sign of respect among one another.
Hope this helped :)
because the girl sometimes wishes he was her brother.
That he thinks of her as a sister, as if they really were siblings. Usually means he has no romantic interest in the girl.
it probably means she's not serious. Or a non-specific form of address ie mister; kid; neighbour
he treats you as his sister
For malesolder sister is 누나 noonaolder brother is hyung. For femalesyour older brother is 오빠 oppayour older sister is 언니 eonni.
Your grandmother's sister is your great aunt. You are her great niece, if you are a girl, or her great nephew, if you are a boy.
It means that they think of you as their sister. They call you that because they're not interested in you romantically.
If it is a boy then it is your nephew. If it is a girl then it is your niece.
If it's a boy: Nephew If it's a girl: Niece
If your uncle is the brother of one of your parents, his sister-in-law is either the sister of his wife or the wife of his brother. If his sister-in-law is the sister of his wife, she is not related to you, and neither is her daughter. If his sister-in-law is the wife of his brother, then she could be your mother and her daughter would be your sister, or you if you are a girl. Otherwise she is your aunt (the wife of another brother of one of your parents) and her daughter is also the daughter of a brother of one of your parents and thus your first cousin. If the daughter is from a previous marriage, then she is not related to you, but you may choose to treat her as a first cousin, especially if she was very young when her mother married your uncle.
It means You are Just Friends. Unless YOu want it To mean more.
Your mother's sister-in-law is either the wife of her brother (your uncle), or your father's sister (your aunt). The niece of your uncle's wife is not related to you, unless she is you, your sister, or a girl cousin who is the daughter of another of your mother's brothers or sisters. The niece of your father's sister is you, your sister, or the daughter of another of your father's brother's or sisters. If your father's sister is married, she may have nieces who are the daughters of her husband's brothers or sisters. Those nieces are not related to you.
