This dream could have a number of different meanings from the intensely personal to the very spiritual. During the grieving process it is normal to dream of the deceased loved one returning to life, as the subconscious mind struggles to accept the finality of death. Alternatively, the dead person might symbolize something in real life such as a contract, relationship or opportunity that seemed "dead" but is being "revived." Yet another possibility could be that the dream is an expression of the dreamer's personal religious faith.

This dream most likely is using the image of the dead person as a symbol representing an issue or problem that the dreamer thought had been solved (dead) that is now coming back (resurrected) to cause more difficulties.

I've been having the same dream and it keeps happening. i looked it up and it said that it just means you miss that person. however, i hear all the time from many different people that it means that person is trying to get in touch with you or trying to send you a message. seeing how they've passes and cant come out and just say it for them self.

It could mean that someone who you thought was no longer a part of your life has returned. On a deeper psychological level, it also means that some part of yourself that you felt was "dead," has begun stirring again.

On some level you have felt held back or overwhelmed by life in general, or by some circumstances of life. You have seen your way through that, or you soon will. Just in case there is doubt, the dream has nothing to do with actually dying.

The dream is about a significant transition in your life. The "dying" is not literal death but the end of one period of life, such as graduation, which is the end of your life as a student and the beginning of your life as an independent adult. Generally such dreams refer to a major life change, such as graduation, marriage, career change, etc., but occasionally they seem related to rather mundane events, such as the end of summer or the end of term.

This sort of dream is remarkably common. If it refers to a person who has died in reality, the dream reflects the mind's effort to accept the permanence of the deceased person's absence. If the dream is about someone who is alive, or about an imagined person, then the dream is using "death" as a metaphor representing change in the dreamer's own life. This particular dream might reflect the dreamer's current situation, perhaps referring to one's hope of restoring a broken relationship.

This dream suggests that the dreamer is in the process of mourning. The subconscious mind often has more difficulty accepting the finality of death than the conscious mind. The dream represent's the subconscious mind's effort to bring the deceased back into the dreamer's company. Such dreams are a normal part of the grieving process.
