In dreams, "death" usually symbolizes a transformation, change or departure. This particular dream could represent the end of that family member's influence or control over the dreamer. Alternatively, the relative could be a symbol for part of the dreamer's own self that is undergoing a transition, such as graduation, job loss, relocation, etc.

In dreams, death is a symbol representing transformation or change. But every dream is unique to each individual, so such general interpretations must be considered in the light of the dreamer's circumstances: is that family member terminally ill, or caught in life-threatening habits? In such cases, the dream would be an expression of the dreamer's reasonable fear for the family member. Otherwise, "death" is a metaphor, and the "family member" might represent the dreamer's own self, and changes occurring in the dreamer's life.

Also, ir these dreams and thoughts are unwanted and they tend to cause an undo amount of worrying on your part, such that other common activities in your life become much more difficult or even diminished, then you might want to consider the possibility of an underlying OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).

Dreams are just dreams and do not "mean" anything.

Addition to the previous answer:

While they may not "mean" anything persay, it can be a pretty accurate indicator of what's going on in your head, realizing, of course, that you can't take dreams at face value, because while they seem connected, and one big dream, they usually aren't. The indicators of what's going on in your psyche is more about colors that appear in the dream, and other seemingly irrelevant things.

... A dream about death usually indicates a new chapter in your life, death meaning the end of something, not particularly someone dieing. The fact that it was your sibling, may be totally unrelated, or, it's possible that your relationship with your sibling reached a new level, be it good or bad.

While this all seems like witch craft, type stuff to some people, it's not. Your brain can only hold so much, and has to purge it somehow, because it does get filled up, like a computer, and can't hold anymore. You'll find the brain purging via dream, or out of place emotions.

So, in regards to dreaming, the sibling, and the death, very well may not be related. Usually, anything dealing with a psychological answer, isn't near as cut and dry as I think you were hoping for.

*Please note, this is coming from a psychology student. I'm not, nor am I trying to put myself out to be a licensed psychologist. This information just comes from a culmination of what I learned to this point in my schooling.*

It Means Someone In Your Family Is Gonna Get Married & If You Dream Of A Wedding Death Is Haunting You

Answer:

The idea that a dream foretells its opposite is a very old superstition without any basis in fact. Realistically, family members, friends and acquaintances do marry, produce children and die fairly regularly; that is normal human life. It would be difficult to have any sort of dream at any time when someone, somewhere were not marrying, reproducing or dying.

> Dreams illustrate the experiences and feelings of the dreamer, usually in symbols and metaphors. "Death" in dreams often represents significant change such as graduation, job change, the end of a relationship, etc. Graduation, for example, can be expressed as the "death" of student life and the beginning of adult responsibilities.

The dream might bring to your attention subtle hints or suggestive comments about your relative that you didn't pay attention to with your conscious mind, but that led your subconscious to an obvious conclusion. It could just as easily refer to something other than a baby that your family is developing (gestating.)

> However, dreams are about the dreamer, so it is more likely that your "relative" in this dream symbolizes some part of your own life where something new and significant is developing.

Dreams of a person who had died are a normal part of the grief process. Grief and the dreams associated with grief can persist for a number of years after the loss. Dreams of the deceased can provide comfort as well as acceptance of the finality of death.

Probably just thinking about the person the brain is reliving old memories

What does it mean to dream Family member has different face?

The dream's meaning ultimately depends on the emotions you experienced in that dream. This particular dream could mean that you feel as if your family member is acting strangely, or has become so different over time that you no longer recognize them. The dream is focused on you and your experience and feelings rather than on your family member.

What does it mean if you dream about maggots in a family member's old house?

Maggots represent rot and decay, and most people react to maggots with revulsion and disgust. The family member's old house would symbolize that person's past, perhaps their family history. However, your dreams are about YOU, and your family member's family history is necessarily your own family history. This suggests that the dream expresses feelings of disgust and rejection that you feel toward something in your background, heritage or ancestry. By setting the dream in the context of another family member, your mind is (symbolically) distancing yourself from that history.

What does it mean if you Dream about kissing a family member?

Just as it is natural to express family affections through kissing, it is natural to dream about people who are close to you. On the other hand, if the "kiss" is too romantic and inappropriate for a family member, it suggests that your ties to the family may be too close. In that case, the dream is your own mind's effort to alert you to your need for more independence as an adult in your own right.

What does it mean when the devil has a hold on a family member in a dream?

It means that your mind is using the image of the devil to illustrate your anxiety about that family member. You may have good reason to be worried, if that family member is getting mixed up with a bad crowd. The dream does not predict the future or any actual danger; it only illustrates your own anxiety. On a more symbolic level, the dream is about yourself and your tendency to be too weak when faced with temptation. You do not like to admit, even to yourself, that you can be so easily tempted.
