Just as dreams can be difficult to remember, the memory of dreams can be fluid and unreliable. The waking mind tends to fill in gaps and provide details after the fact as it struggles to make sense of a dream. So, although one may have had a vivid dream of unknown persons dying, it is very unlikely that the original dream characters were identical with the people met several days later. It is much more likely that the original dream characters were indistinct, and the dreamer's mind leapt to a mistaken conclusion.
