well i just got a hermt crab and it said on the sheet to let him bath in water so i did butt then all of a sudden his big claw turned purple dose any one know what you think might have happened

∙ 13y agoIf your crab's large claw is purple, there is a good chance it is a c. clypeatus or often called "PP" for"Purple Pincher". These crabs are from the Caribbean and are thee most common variety sold at pet stores & on beaches in the US.

∙ 10y agoIf a hermit crab loses its purple pincher, it is likely that this pincher will not grow back. There are a lot of things a crab can grow back, but pinchers is not one of them.
