2 Timothy 3:16 says that "All scripture is 'God breathed'(theo'pneu-stos)"(NIV) ...meaning 'inspired by God'(CEB), or 'God directed'. When God 'breathed' on his faithful people, he caused his active force (spirit) to be operative on them, to move them/guide them/impel them, so that they could write what God wanted written. As The Bible says: 'no prophecy was brought about by man's will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit'(2 Peter 1:21). Jesus demonstrated this transfer of holy spirit at John 20:21+22, when he 'breathed' on his apostles.(Psalm 33:6/2 Samuel 23:2). David wrote Psalm 110 'by inspiration' (Matthew 22:43/Mark 12:36), and though individual personalities came through in the writing(Habakkuk 2:2/Ecclesiastes 12:9+10/Luke 1:1-4), they were 'inspired by God' (Revelation 1:10+11/Joel 2:28+29/Daniel 7:1/Acts 16:9), 'aglow with the spirit'(Acts 18:25/Romans 12:11), and the final product was God's(Proverbs 30:5+6/Psalm 119:105).
