It means that you have come to a place in your life where you see yourself as the sinner which The Bible claims you to be (Romans 3:23). It means you have acknowledged that you are personally powerless to do anything about your sinful condition and that there isn't enough time or enough good things that you can do to personally compensate God for your sin (Isaiah 64:6). All sin is against God. (Psalm 51:4) It means you acknowledge that God Himself has provided for the expiation of your sin (Acts 20:28) in the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, His Son incarnate (John 3:16), who was immaculately conceived (Luke 1:34.35) and born in Bethlehem (Matthew 2:1), Israel, somewhere in the years 4-5 BC, who lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), and was executed on a cross by the Romans at the insistence of the Israeli religious leaders (John 19:6). You acknowledge that Jesus' blood is the essential instrumentality of your sin's expiation (Leviticus 17:11). You accept as fact His resurrection from the dead 3 days after His death (John 2:22). You accept all the foregoing by faith (Hebrews 11:6), and you invite the Spirit of God to take up residence within your person (John 14:23). You concede to Him the control of your will and the direction of your life (Matthew 6:10), whatever form that may take, intending to grow in your knowledge, love, trust, and obedience of and to Him (2 Peter 3:18), particularly as He continues to reveal Himself and His will for you through His Word, the Bible (Psalm 119:105), agreeing to be faithful to Him until death (Revelation 2:10).
The knowledge that you are saved from certain death is very liberating. Only through Christ can this redemption occur.
You will say that you accept him as your lord and savior. You will pray to him every day and night. Also, when you pray to him, don't act like you mean it, just mean it.
