Being open minded is, being open to the new ideas. It doesn't mean that you should agree the given idea but it means you are willing to listen in order to understand the point of view and respect it.

Being 'Open Minded' is a way of saying that you are open to new ideas and are willing to accept things. Minor examples would include trying a new hairstyle or changing your clothing apparel. Other major examples would be like changing your political views or your eating style and how much you eat. There are a large variety of changes you can make and many of them are common things. All of these things can be described as being 'Open Minded.' Also another thing I didn't mention is that when the male or female in a relationship says they should be more 'Open Minded' it usually means that you did something wrong or they want to see other people.
