From the information I have gathered, buying something symbolizes progress in your waking life. It seems to me that buying a farm would symbolize you potentially making progress in obtaining something of value to you, whether it means you have made a big purchase recently or will in the near future, maybe you could be expecting a promotion at work or an offer for a better job, maybe you are on your way to achieving some kind of financial success. The dream could mean that you are seeking ways to expand your quality of life.
