It depends on what type of hug it is. If, during the hug, the boy pats your back, this means that you are just friends, because all boys, when hugging the same gender, pat their friends back. It is sometimes good to keep it like that. If his hands are on your lower back during the hug, then he likes you, or (hopefully) respects you for who you are.
