∙ 10y agoThough there is a sort of 'general guide' as to how most people interact with one another, that doesn't mean everyone follows these rules.
For instance in some cultures it's customary for good friends to kiss hello and goodbye, whereas in other places a firm handshake will do. More importantly, in both those places there will be people who have their own unique way of interacting with each other.
The point I'm trying to make is that this guy obviously cares about you, but you have to determine how much because everyone connects differently. There's no harm in asking him or maybe writing down/thinking about all things about him that suggests how close he may be to you.
He could be an incredibly close friend, he could want to be more than that.
