pt950 means that the ring is Platinum (PT on the Periodic Table) and 950/1000 for purity which makes it 95% pure platinum. 18 karats is about 75% of the precious metal, and 25% something else, so the platinum component in your ring is almost 24 karats, very pure, only 5% non-precious metal. The 750 on your ring should bereferring to gold, in that your gold is 18 karat, IE 75% precious metal. Usually when I've seen markings for platinum and gold, it means the ring is 2 tone, is that the case here? It should have both gold and platinum visible on it? I am in no way an expert, but this is the information as i know and understand it. Here are some links that might help clarify for you.

I hope all this helped :-/
Gold filled is all gold while a plated one is just a combination of other metals that are then gold plated.
It means the ring is made of 14 k gold and Platinum! It does NOT mean it is plated....
White gold is yellow gold that is mixed with other metals and yellow gold is made in the same way, and the difference is only in the metals used. In order to make the gold white, it is combined with metal alloys that are white in nature and plated with an extremely hard element called rhodium. Platinum, on the other hand, is a white metal and is used in jewelry in its pure form. It is Platinum white, so it does not need to be rhodium plated like white gold does.
No. Gold plate is a layer over a base metal. Gold is a combination of gold and another metal.
No. Anything that is plated with a precious metal such as silver, gold or platinum, will not be hallmarked no matter how thick the plating. The plating is not the initial material.925 will only be on sterling silver jewellery.
It is a combination of iridium plated with Beryllium, Platinum and Gold. Its is very rare to find and only few plates were made in this way.
Yea. They are made of real gold-plated platinum
Either platinum or gold can be plated to match the other
Yea. They are made of real gold-plated platinum
You can electroplate it with rhodium, platinum

Olympics medals are made from Gold,Platinum and Bronzes
A kinds of metals can be electroplated, such as gold, silver, tin, zinc, copper, cadmium, chromium, platinum and lead
Platinum is more dense and so more of it is required to make a ring, platinum rings for e.g. are usually 95% pure platinum. It is usually no longer coated with rhodium.
